NOC meets with the Libyan Council for Oil and Gas

Within  NOC and its affiliated companies’  support for the Libyan Council for Oil and Gas and believing in its  responsibility for upgrading  and preserving the national economy,  in addition to the importance of creating jobs for the national specialists; NOC, chaired by Eng. Mustafa Sanalla, NOC Chairman of the Board,  held a meeting with Chairman and Members of the Libyan Council for Oil and Gas  on Tuesday morning 25 April 2015 at the Conference Hall – NOC Headquarters in Tripoli.

The meeting was held in the presence of Messrs Abulgasem Shingheer  Member of the Board and a number of management chairmen of NOC affiliated companies as well as a number of officials of the companies  listed under the Libyan Council for Oil and Gas.

Eng. Sanalla presented NOC’s ambitious plan for developing the oil sector and  increasing  productions rates for next years and the attempts by some sides to undermine these efforts for their own agenda, by blockading oil fields or gas pipelines valves  in some parts of the country. He added that NOC would never surrender to such  pressure or extortion.

He also reiterated his support  for the companies of the Libyan private sector and the Libyan Council for oil and Gas in accordance with the sector’s relevant  regulations and legislations applicable in the country, despite the difficulties and the current problems of the Libyan Dinar’s fall resulted from  the consequences of those circumstances which  everybody in the country shares.

In his speech,  Eng. Mustafa Sanalla asserted  his support for all the ideas and exerted efforts by NOC affiliated companies and the Libyan Council for Oil and Gas to seriously consider the relevant laws and legislations with the sovereign bodies in the country in order to mitigate the difficulties that private and public  sectors face.

The attendees also discussed the national private sector’s contribution to providing several services to oil sector in the absence of foreign companies and how it is important for the Libyan private sector to contribute to capacity building and technical resources during this period.

At the end of the meeting, members of the Libyan Council for Oil and Gas commended NOC presidency and management ‘s position  which kept oil and gas sector neutral and away from the political struggles that the country goes through.
